Thanks Derek, that link works. You are right CV takes sin more seriously. Still they throw verses at me sometimes - like Is 53.10 'it was the Lord's will to crush him and cause him to suffer.' Of course you really need a paradigm change or spiritual breakthrough to get this stuff - playing verse tennis gets you nowhere.

As far as "going soft" remember CV still affirms that Christ died for us, that the atonement was objective, but it's focus is on liberating us from Satan's power, and on being born again. So it is still that "old time gospel story" and one that takes sin very seriously. In fact I'd say that it takes it MORE seriously that PS does because it insists that sin is something that wounds us and enslaves us, and that we need to made new and set free from it, not just be acquitted legally, as if turning the other way would make us any less broken.

Thanks for posting this Derek. I like it in spite of the cheesy ending. I'm trying to wean my flock off PS but it is deeply ingrained and some of them just think I've gone soft. A little story like this could be very useful... do I have to show it from your page or can it be extracted as a powerpoint presentation or something. I'm not very techy!
